Harry S. Truman 1947 Diary

August 31, 1947

August 31:

At 9 A.M. we leave Washington for Brazil. I am in doubt about what the result may be. We have a pleasant flight to Trinadad [sic], and a cordial reception by the British Governor and the U.S. Commandant. Stay at the house of the American C[ommanding] O[fficer]. It was very pleasant.
