The Buck Stops Here Society

The Buck Stops Here Society  links the expertise and resources of a world-class presidential library with a network of creative, energetic, people with fresh ideas. The society is designed to bring together key leaders who realize the "power" of history, share a mutual interest in life-long learning and support the educational and outreach programs of the Harry S. Truman Library.

Member Benefits

When you become a Buck Stops Here Society member, you become personally involved in what the Harry S. Truman Library has to offer. Your membership society benefits include:

  • Special access to the Truman Library for meetings and corporate events
  • Free programs for "Society Members Only"
  • Invitations to personally meet and welcome speakers of national and international prominence, including preferred seating for their public program
  • Free Whistle Stop newsletter and admission to the Truman Library
  • Members of the Buck Stops Here Society are admitted at no charge to all events.

During your first-year membership, the Society will present you with an engraved brass replica of the famous The Buck Stops Here sign encased in a specially designed box. The motto popularized by President Truman has come to symbolize his decisiveness and accountability.

Your investment in The Buck Stops Here Society will be used at the Harry S. Truman Library for one or more of the following:

  • Attracting prominent speakers
  • Bringing in top-quality traveling exhibits
  • Developing educational programs for students and teachers
