00:00 The introduction reads, President Truman’s Trip to Annapolis, Maryland. 28 – 30 May 1948. May 28 – The President arrives at the Naval Gun Factory, Washington, where he boards the WILLIAMSBURG for the cruise to Annapolis. Harry S. Truman exits a car and boards the ship. Sailors line up before the camera after greeting Truman.
01:01May 28 – The WILLIAMSBURG gets underway. Captain Freeman at the bridge. The crew is shown in action as the ship departs.
02:07May 28 – The Presidential yacht renders honors as it passes Washington’s Tomb at Mt. Vernon. A sailor plays the bugle. Staff on the Williamsburg salute to the side of the vessel.
02:48May 29 – Annapolis: The Secretary of the Navy comes aboard the WILLIAMSBURG to welcome the President.
03:03May 29 – The WILLIAMSBURG “mans the rail” as the President leaves the ship.
03:24May 29 – On board the Lenore: The President and members of his party, accompanied by Secretary Sullivan and Admiral Holloway, witness the Cornell-Navy crew races. Navy made a clean sweep. Men in suits and Navy uniforms mingle on the deck of a boat, along with Truman. The crew races are shown alongside the boat. Men, including Truman, take photographs and/or carry binoculars to watch the races.
07:49May 29 – After having lunch on board, the President and members of his party leave the WILLIAMSBURG for the Naval Academy. Truman disembarking is followed by scenes of his welcome at the Academy.
08:39May 29 – Annapolis: The President, Secretary Sullivan, Governor Lane, Admiral Denfeld and Admiral Holloway leave Phlox Landing for the Naval Academy baseball field. The film shows Truman and other riding in a car and then sitting on bleachers.
09:06May 29 – The President officially gets the Army-Navy baseball game underway. Final Score: Navy 9, Army 0. Truman throws the first pitch. This segment shows the game footage, concentrating mainly on highlights of the Navy players.
12:02May 29 – All hands stand as the President and members of his party leave the baseball field.
13:05May 29 – The President waves goodbye to his host as he prepares to return to the WILLIAMSBURG.
13:15May 30 – Naval Gun Factory: The cruise is ended; the President and members of his party leave the WILLIAMSBURG to attend Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington. Truman departs by car with other men.
13:44Possibly unrelated footage of Margaret Truman and other people ranging young to old on a boat. They smile and make faces at the camera.
