FAQ: Do the Truman Home and farm home offer tours?

Truman Home, at 219 Delaware Street (Independence, Missouri):

Run by the National Park Service, guided tours of the home begin at 9:00 a.m., with the last scheduled tour to begin at 4:45 p.m. There are no tours on Mondays between Labor Day and Memorial Day, and the home is closed for New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. The current cost of the tour is $4 for adults (16 years +), with children (15 -) being admitted for free. Tours are limited to 8 persons per tour, and tickets can be purchased at the Truman Home Visitor Center the day of the tour. The Visitor Center is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Truman Road and Main Street, in Independence (southeast of the Library). For more information call 816-254-9929.

Truman Farm Home (Grandview, Missouri):

Administered by the National Park Service, guided tours of the farm home are available from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the months of May thru August. Guided tours are limited to 6 persons per tour, on a first come, first served basis. Self-guided tours of the grounds are available daily, all year round.
