TITLE
OF POSITION: Mailing Circle

(or other staff responsible for the mailing)
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To prepare mailings connected with:
1) events and/or public programs of the Truman Presidential Museum &
Library for promotion purposes, and,
2) fund raising efforts of the Truman Library Institute to promote involvement
opportunities.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Labeling envelopes.
2. Collating material
to be inserted into the envelopes.
3. Matching the
name(s) on the envelope with the name(s) on the letterhead.
4. Folding envelope
contents.
5. Inserting material
into envelopes.
6. Sealing envelopes.
7. Placing postage
on envelopes.
COMMITMENT REQUIRED:
A minimum commitment of twice a month (if we have that many mailings
going out)
for a 9-12 month period is required. When we need help with a mailing,
a volunteer will call you to see if you are available to help.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Must be age 16
or older
Enjoy meeting/working with other people
Reliable, responsible, flexible
Able to work in a group setting
Able to accept supervision
Capable of performing repetitive tasks and detail oriented
TRAINING/ORIENTATION
PROVIDED:
Initial orientation.
Basic reading material on the life and times of Harry S. Truman.
Attend at least one tour.
View the Charles Guggenheim film.
On-the-job training provided by Truman Library & Institute staff.
