This was a busy day of meetings. The president met with the Ambassador of Chile at 10:00. At 10:45, he met with Mr. Russell J. Hopley who used to be the director of Civilian defense planning. At 11:00, he met with Dr. Karl Compton from M.I.T. He invited the president to the school. Between 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., he met with the Prime Minister of New Zealand and the Prime Minister of Transjordan.

At 12:30, a formal committee invited the President to the Inaugural. They also presented him with an Inaugural medal. Then, at 12:45, he met with a group of people. They presented the President with a scroll containing over 3 million names of all the people who have gone through the Freedom Train.

At 1:00, the President had his lunch. At 3:00, he met with a group of senators to discuss resources development in the Missouri Valley. At 3:15, he met with the Secretary of the Treasury.
