Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum

January 26, 1949

The President had a lot of meetings in the morning, including a group of Amateur Radio operators representing the American Radio Relay League and Washington Area Radio Clubs. This group always relayed congratulatory messages from their respective state governors after the President was inaugurated.

The President also reported to his cabinet that he had received a nasty letter from Felix Frankfurter, who was a Supreme Court Justice, about the approval of Secretary of State Dean Acheson. The President was often blunt, but very truthful.
