Harry Truman had a day full of meetings. At 10:00 a.m. he met with the "Big 4," the Vice President, the Speaker, Senator Scott Lucas (Illinois) and Congressman John W. McCormack (Mass). At 12:00 p.m. he met with Congressman Richard Bolling of Missouri to discuss the Postmastership at Kansas City. At 12:30, he met with the Secretary of State for his usual Monday appointment. At 1:00, he had lunch with his cabinet. At 3:45 he met with Wayne Coy, Chairman of the FCC in an off the record meeting. He also made a speech about what a toll heart disease was taking on Americans.
