Truman's day began with him meeting with a sculptor at 8:30am. Then he had a Press and Radio conference with Jerome Walsh. Then Thomas Hart Benton saw Truman right after the conference. Next Truman read a letter from Congressman Furcolo, Massachusetts about his remarks on his Federal Scholarship Plan. Then he received the Council of Bishops of African Methodist Episcopal Church about 12:15. Next Truman had his usual meeting with the Secretary of State at 12:30. Finally at 6:45 he left the Blair House for The Mayflower Hotel where he attended The Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner.
