The President's day began started at 9:00 a.m. with a speech meeting with numerous staff members.

At 10:45 a letter is on the itinerary, the letter involved Mr. Ralph McClure, his wife Louise and a Mr. George Conovan. Mrs. McClure wrote Mrs. Truman asking if her husband could meet Mr. Truman.

At 11:00 am a meeting with General Lucius Clay, the Secretary of Defense, Mr. Robert Murphy, the Secretary of the Army, and Honorable William Draper, the Under Secretary of the Army.

The next meeting took place at 11:30 a.m. the Secretary of the Army presented to the President the Medal of Honor. Present in the room where Colonel James H. Philips, Mr. John Kane, Mr. Thomas Huntington, and Major Donald Bovee.

At 11:45 a.m. the President met with the Honorable Frank Pace, Assistant Director, Bureau of Budget. Honorable Robert Lovett, the Acting Secretary of State met with Mr. Truman for their usual Thursday meeting. Following this meeting the President had lunch.

After lunch the President next meeting was at 3:30 p.m. with the Honorable Richard Patterson and Honorable James Gerard in a meeting set up by Colonel Louis Johnson.

The final meeting at 3:45 p.m. in the Cabinet Room.

The President also gave a radio address sponsored by The International Garment Workers Union campaign committee.
