Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum

October 26, 1948

In Cleveland on October 26, the "doctor" who had first appeared in Pittsburgh speech showed up again. He was handing out "Sleeping polls" in attempt to put voters to sleep. However, Murphy and Carter were in New York the next night to try to pep up a Rosenman draft. The President gave speeches in South Bend, and Elkhart Indiana, Toledo, Sandusky, Elyria, and the Cleveland Municipal Stadium in Ohio.
