President Truman gave a speech on this date at the Convention Center in Philadelphia. The main topics that he addressed were the high costs of products, the platform of the Democratic Party, labor and a higher minimum wage, and the inactivity of the Republican Congress. Also on the date, President Truman received a letter regarding the desegregation of the armed forces.
