Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum

November 14, 1948

This was another quiet Sunday for the President. He did visit the beach in the morning, this time accompanied by the young son of Captain T.A. Arrasmith, a guest of Mr. Daniels.

Margaret and Mr. Clifford and General Graham enjoyed a game of badminton in the east garden which Mrs. Truman watched from a shade of coconut palms.

Dinner this evening was served at 7 p.m. and there were no guests. The motion picture this evening, "Red River" starring John Wayne was shown although the President did not chose to watch it. The President retired to his suite at 9 p.m. and so Margaret and Bess were escorted to their quarters on the WILLIAMSBURG by General Vaughan.

Truman wrote a letter to his sister Mary Jane on the 14th. Read the text of the letter
