Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum

November 18, 1948

President Truman was still on vacation in Key West. He had breakfast with Mr. Steelman, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Ross, and Mr. Dawson. After breakfast they walked on the beach. He had many calls including some from Senators and Governors.

At lunch he was accompanied by many people. After lunch they went to the north garden where they posed for photographers. At 4 P.M., the President left the house and held an informal inspection of the Little White House. He thanked the man for their fine work. He rested in his suite until dinner at 7 p.m. There were no guests at dinner.

The President spent the evening about the quarters visiting with various members of his party. He retired at midnight.
