Mr. Truman woke and dressed at 7:15 a.m. He didn't eat because he wanted to leave at 7:25 a.m. Mr.Truman was accompanied for a walk to the Naval Station by two secret service men . Then, he came back to the house for breakfast at 8:15 a.m., only to leave again with governor Wallgren and Mr. Ross for the Marines' Reception Hall. Mr. John A. Kennedy rejoined the President's party and walked to the beach to later be joined by Mrs. Truman. They returned to their respective quarters.

At 12:45 p.m., the President posed for Mr. Kyrill Vassiler, a portrait artist. Mr. Vassiler was perfecting the picture of the president dedicating the Everglades National Park. In the north garden, a picnic lunch was served at 1:15 p.m. After lunch, the President retired to his suite where he rested. He stayed in for the night.
