Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum

November 25, 1948

The President worked for a little while on Thanksgiving Day, then, he joined his family for a nice turkey dinner. President Truman lived in the Blair House while the White House was being repaired.

At 1:50 p.m., he called it a day. Mr. Truman had some paper work he had to take home with him. The President didn't attend church, but his wife and daughter decided to attend.

At 7:00 p.m., the Trumans had dinner. Along with the 16 1/2 pound turkey, they ate cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, pumkin pie, mince pie, candy and nuts with coffee to drink. Other than that, he didn't do or have any other plans for the evening.
