11:45 a.m.: Truman met with honorable Cyrus S. Ching, Director of Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Ching wrote to the President; "Not having had an opportunity to discuss the legislative problems in the field of labor relations with any of the other interested agencies, I should appreciate the privilege of discussing them with you, insofar as they may have bearing on the responsibilities of the service."

3:30 p.m.: Truman met with the Secretary of Defense and General Dwight Eisenhower on matters concerning national security.
