Various Jobs Held by Truman

In 1898 Truman first job was working at Clinton's Drugstore at the age of 14.

His first payment was three silver dollars.

Truman worked at Santa Fe Railroad from 1902-1903. He was paid $35 a month. At that same time he also rolled papers for the Kansas City Star.

In 1903-1905, he was a clerk for the National Bank of Commerce.

From 1907-1917 Truman was a farmer in Grandview, Missouri.

In 1915, he was a postmaster in Grandview, Missouri.

In the 1920's Truman worked at a haberdashery. His partner was Mr. Jacobson, a buddy from W.W. 1. They made a success the first two years, but then they failed. It took him 15 years to pay off the debt.
