Taking Care of Himself

The President Keeps Himself Fit

Harry S Truman would always get up every morning and he would walk about 2 miles. He would walk at an army pace of 120 steps per minute.

Truman also ate healthy foods such as a small bowl of oatmeal, two slices of whole wheat toast and a glass of milk for breakfast. He was a light eater, and he didn't eat snacks between meals nor touch sweets.

As a leader, Harry S Truman kept himself in shape by swimming. He also kept an active mind by reading historical and biographical books. We found the information in a letter from Eben A. Ayers to Miss Schaller who wanted to know what Mr. Truman did in his spare time.
