Harry Truman met Bess Wallace at Sunday School at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence. Harry was 8 years old and Bess was 7. However they didn't start dating until they where almost thirty. It was twenty-seven years after they met that they got married at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Independence, Missouri, on June 28,1919.
