(Bess's childhood home)

Bess Wallace (Truman) lived at 608 N. Delaware with her mother, father, and three younger brothers: Frank, George, and Fred. She lived there from 1888 to 1903. The home, pictured on the right, is no longer standing. When Bess was 19, her father died. Soon after that, she and her mother and brothers moved into her grandparent's home at 219 North Delaware where she would live the rest of her life.
