Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum

The Holy Bible

When Harry was a young man, he read the Bible through four or five times, cover to cover, before his fourteenth birthday.

After he became President, he was asked what books had most influenced him. He replied, "The one that had the most influence is right here--the Holy Bible."
