White House ABC Book Project Guide

Name(s) of the students in your group _________________________________________

Phase Two: Planning Your Presentation

You will be creating one page for an ABC Book on the White House. Your class will put all their pages together to create the book. Your teacher will tell you what format you will be using. (Shape Book, Pop-up Book, HyperCard or HyperStudio Stack, etc.)

  1. Brainstorm with your group to answer these questions:

    • What is the topic of our report? What is not the topic?

    • Who is our audience?

    • What information do we want to share with our audience? (To decide this, spread your fact cards out and put them into stacks depending on how important , or how interesting, the information would be to your audience. Only use the most important or interesting information.)

  2. On a separate sheet of white paper, make a rough draft of your page. Your teacher will give you guidelines on what to include based on the format of the book. Be sure to include a bibliography and give credit where it is due.

  3. Evaluate your rough draft. Did you include all the required elements? Are you pleased with the way it looks? Check with your teacher to get approval of your rough draft before starting on the final copy.

Congratulations! You completed Phase Two!
