Truman Library: Letter, dated February 28, 1947, designating Leroy Stinebower, the Special Assistant to the U.S. State Department's Assistant Secretary for Economic Affairs, as acting U.S. representative to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, pending qualification of a regular representative. Attached is a February 28, 1947 letter from Dean Acheson to Truman recommending Stinebower be named as the acting representative to the council, as well as a letter of transmittal.
