McClellan Cavalry Saddle The U.S. McClellan cavalry saddle, model 1904, was acquired by First Lieutenant Harry S. Truman in 1917 after joining the Battery F-129th Field Artillery. Truman took the saddle with him to France and used it throughout the war.

The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is one of twelve Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
