The President left St. Thomas at 5:30 a.m. aboard the USS WILLIAMSBURG and proceded to Fredericksted, St. Croix, arriving at 9:30 a.m. He disembarked about 10:30 a.m. and departed for a sightseeing tour by automobile of the Island. He made a few remarks at the Government House at Christiansted, St. Croix. The President motored back to Frederikstead for his lunch and then returned to the USS WILLIAMSBURG. The USS WILLIAMSBURG left St. Croix at 2:00 p.m. for the Guantanamo Naval Base. |
