The President arose at 7:00 a.m. and breakfasted. The President dictated to Jack Romagna from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Accompanied by his staff with the exception of Captain Robert L. Dennison, Admiral William Leahy and Secretary Matthew Connelly, the President departed the Little White House at 10:00 a.m. and walked through the Naval Base to the beach where he and his party indulged in sun bathing and swimming until 12:00 noon. They departed the beach at 12:05 p.m. and motored to the house, the President driving. Luncheon was served at 1:00 p.m. The remainder of the day was spent in general relaxation in and about the Little White House. There were no further activities for this date. Dinner was served at 7:00 p.m. |
