Reel 1

0:00   Harry S. Truman discusses the Nuremberg Trials, saying “I wanted to get them to trial, but it was not that easy.” Mr. Truman speaks of the difficulty of getting the British to agree to have trials. Judge Sam Rosenman reported that “the British were adamant and didn’t want to have trials.” Mr. Truman says “we persisted and got everything on the record that ought to be there.”
0:36   Voice of Ben Gradus directs Mr. Truman to say he was surprised at Judge Rosenman’s report, without mentioning the British. This was probably used in preparation for MP80-3, “Execution Without Trial.”
