Harry S. Truman, seated at a desk, talks about being in the Senate. He says "I felt I was in some ways prepared." People are the same whether you are negotiating on the county level, or the international level in Washington. He describes being a member of the Senate for ten years and was on three of the most important committees. Reading the script, Mr. Truman tells the story of how the Senate Whip told him he would wonder "how he got here, and soon would wonder how the rest of us got here." The Senate was a wonderful place to serve.
