COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

This Preston Delano Papers are comprised mostly of newspaper or magazine clippings and photographs of Delano that relate to his career in government. Most of these items pertain to his service as the United States Comptroller of the Currency under Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman.

The articles, photographs, and other items were removed from a scrapbook. They mostly relate to economic and banking conditions and to Delano’s public statements and other activities.

Other documents of interest in this collection include invitations to parties and banquets, and certificates of merit from the Community War Fund and the Red Cross.

These papers were originally opened for research as part of the Miscellaneous Historical Documents Collection (MHDC 381).

Related collections at the Truman Library include the papers of Harry S. Truman (Official File 21-B) and John W. Snyder.
