COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The William W. Janssen Papers include designs and drawings of the Presidential yacht, the USS Williamsburg, dating from its construction in 1930-1931. Also included are four black and white photographs depicting the Williamsburg; President Harry S. Truman on the escort vessel Lenore on May 29, 1948 ; and the crewmen of the yacht. Also contained among the papers are one 8mm motion picture and one VHS transfer of scenes of Washington D.C. and Norfolk, Virginia, views from the ship, and a brief scene of President Harry S. Truman on the ship.
