COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The Papers of George L. McColm consist of printed materials, biographical information, correspondence, photographs, articles, handwritten notes, and other items relating to his work as an agricultural expert for the U.S. Navy, the State Department, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Included is information concerning McColm's involvement in agricultural planning for the invasion and occupation of Japan during World War II. The collection also contains materials relating to McColm's agricultural research, food shortages among the Navajo Indians, land reform, and agricultural practices in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

This collection was previously open for research as part of the Miscellaneous Historical Documents Collection (MHDC 698).
