COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The Ken McCormick Papers include correspondence relevant to his work as Editor in Chief at Doubleday & Company. Early correspondence in the collection between McCormick and Harry S. Truman, Rose Conway, and Charles Ross relates to books sent to President Truman by Doubleday & Co.

Later correspondence between McCormick and Truman and between McCormick and others in the publishing industry relates to Truman's Memoirs, which were published by Doubleday in 1955-56. The papers also include a few printed materials and other items.

These papers consist of copies of original documents in the Ken McCormick Collection at the Library of Congress, Washington D. C. The historian David McCullough provided the copies to the Truman Library in 2006.
