COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The papers of Jerome K. Walsh include correspondence, press clippings, articles, handwritten notes, speeches, and other items concerning Walsh’s life, career as an attorney in Kansas City, and political involvement. The collection is arranged in one series, a Subject File.

The collection contains Walsh’s correspondence with a number of people, including President Harry S. Truman. Several items related to an essay Walsh wrote for a journal are included. There are also records from his career as a Kansas City attorney detailing the cases he worked on, including transcripts of court sessions.

One portion of the collection covers Walsh’s campaigns for Congress in 1944 and 1946. These materials include press clippings, statements, and speeches from his campaign, as well as sample ballots.

There is also correspondence and other information regarding civil rights in Missouri and the proposed Missouri Valley Authority. Included is the transcript of a debate on the Missouri Valley Authority, in which Walsh participated.
